Getting Started
How do I download and install the Acme Fitness App?
The Acme Fitness App is available for both iOS and Android devices. To install:
- Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) on your mobile device
- Search for "Acme Fitness"
- Tap "Get" or "Install" to download the app
- Once installed, tap the app icon to open it
How do I create an account?
To create your Acme Fitness account:
- Open the app and tap "Sign Up" on the welcome screen
- Enter your email address and create a password
- Provide your first and last name
- Read and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
- Tap "Create Account" to complete the process
You can also choose to sign up using your Facebook or Google account by tapping the appropriate button on the sign-up screen and following the prompts to connect your account.
How do I set up my profile and preferences?
After creating your account, you'll be guided through the profile setup process:
- Enter your birthdate, gender, height and current weight
- Set your preferred units of measurement (imperial or metric)
- Choose your primary fitness goal (lose weight, build muscle, improve endurance, etc.)
- Estimate your current fitness level (beginner, intermediate, advanced)
- Specify any injuries or limitations you have
- Grant the app permission to access motion, location, and health data (optional)
- Connect your supported fitness wearables (optional)

- Follow the on-screen instructions to authenticate and grant permissions
- Once connected, your wearable data will automatically sync with the app
To ensure a smooth connection, make sure your wearable is fully charged, in close proximity to your phone, and has Bluetooth enabled.
Troubleshooting sync issues
If you're having trouble syncing your wearable data with the Acme Fitness App, try these troubleshooting steps:
- Check that your wearable is powered on and has sufficient battery life
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both your wearable and phone
- Make sure the Acme Fitness App has permission to access your wearable's data in your phone's settings
- Try manually syncing your wearable through its companion app
- Disconnect and reconnect your wearable in the Acme Fitness App:

Understanding the main dashboard
The Acme Fitness App dashboard is your central hub for tracking your fitness journey. From the dashboard you can:

During a workout, you can:
- View your real-time stats like heart rate and calories burned

- Pause or end the workout at any time
After completing a workout, you'll see a summary screen with your stats, which you can share to social media or save to your camera roll.

In addition to logging workouts, the Acme Fitness App makes it easy to track your progress over time:
- The "Progress" tab shows charts and graphs of your key metrics, like weight, body fat percentage, and strength gains
- Milestones and achievements are automatically celebrated with badges and notifications
- Before and after photos can be added to visually track your transformation

How does the app create my personalized plan?
When you first set up your Acme Fitness profile, the app generates a personalized workout plan based on your:

- Available equipment and workout preferences
- Typical weekly schedule and availability
- Injuries or limitations
- Biometric data like height, weight, and body fat percentage
Using this information, along with aggregate data from other users with similar profiles, the app creates an initial workout plan designed to help you efficiently reach your goals. The plan automatically adapts and evolves as you progress and log more workouts.
Adjusting your fitness level and goals
As your fitness improves over time, you may want to adjust your level in the app to keep your workouts challenging:
- Go to the "Profile" tab and tap "Workout Preferences"
- Tap "Fitness Level" and select Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced
- The app will automatically update your upcoming workouts to match your new level
You can also modify your primary fitness goal at any time:
- From the "Profile" tab, tap "Goals"
- Select your new goal from the list (lose weight, build muscle, improve endurance, etc.)

By default, the Acme Fitness App will suggest ideal times for your workouts based on your profile and typical availability. However, you can easily customize your workout schedule:
- Go to the "Workouts" tab and tap "Schedule"
- Tap the "+" button to add a new workout slot
- Choose the day, start time, and duration for the workout
- Select the type of workout (strength, cardio, yoga, etc.)
- Repeat for additional workouts
- To schedule a rest day, tap the "+" button and select "Rest Day"
You can also drag-and-drop workouts on the schedule to quickly rearrange them. The app will automatically update your plan to accommodate your new schedule.
Adding, removing or substituting exercises
While the pre-built workouts in your plan are designed to be effective and well-rounded, you can customize any workout to your liking:
- To add an exercise:
- Tap the "+" button from the workout details screen
- Browse or search the exercise library and tap an exercise to add it
- Specify the sets, reps, and weight (if applicable)
- Tap "Add Exercise" to insert it into the workout
- To remove an exercise:
- From the workout details screen, tap the "Edit" button
- Tap the red "-" button next to the exercise you want to remove
- Confirm by tapping "Remove Exercise"
- To substitute an exercise:
- Tap "Edit" from the workout details page
- Tap the exercise you want to replace
- Tap "Substitute Exercise"
- Browse the suggested substitutions or search for an exercise
- Tap your preferred substitution
- Update the sets, reps and weight if needed
- Tap "Substitute" to confirm
Remember, you can always reset a workout to its original state by tapping "Restore Default" from the edit screen.
Tracking Nutrition and Other Metrics
Logging meals and snacks
In addition to logging your workouts, the Acme Fitness App allows you to easily track your nutrition:
- Tap the "Nutrition" tab from the bottom navigation bar
- Tap the "+" button to add a new meal or snack
- Select the type of meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack)
- Search for foods in our database or create a custom food
- Enter the serving size and number of servings
- Tap "Log Meal" to add it to your diary
You can also use the barcode scanner to quickly log packaged foods, or create recipes to easily log your go-to meals. The app will calculate the total calories and macronutrients for each day and show your progress towards your nutrition goals.
Setting calorie and macronutrient targets
To set your daily calorie and macronutrient targets:
- Go to the "Profile" tab and tap "Nutrition Preferences"
- Tap "Calorie & Macro Goals"
- Enter your target calories for the day
- Adjust the percentages for carbohydrates, fat, and protein to reach 100%
- Tap "Set Targets" to save
The app will automatically calculate your macronutrient gram goals based on your calorie target and percentages. You can view your progress towards these targets on the Nutrition tab.
Tracking body measurements and progress photos
The Acme Fitness App allows you to log body measurements and progress photos to track your physical changes over time:
- To log a body measurement:
- From the "Progress" tab, tap "Body Measurements"
- Tap the "+" button to add a new measurement
- Select the type of measurement (weight, waist, hips, etc.)
- Enter the measurement value
- Tap "Log Measurement" to save
- To add a progress photo:
- Tap "Progress Photos" from the Progress tab
- Tap the "+" button to add a new photo
- Take a new photo or select one from your camera roll

- If you wear a supported fitness tracker with sleep tracking, your sleep data will automatically sync with the app
- To manually log your sleep:
- Tap "Sleep" from the Dashboard or Progress tab

- Enter your bedtime and wake time
